When I opened the box to find these Taggies soft blocks I was ecstatic. AppleBlossom likes them too. There are so many colors and textures! I love the different animals and the shooting star! Two blocks have a bell inside and the other two blocks have the crinkly material, both are great noises that really catches her attention and curiosity. Already she is grasping the tags and rubbing them between her fingers. These blocks are the first Taggies-type product she’s been around and already I can tell they are a big hit. When she is more into holding the blocks I can easily see toting a couple around in the diaper bag, and they are no problem at all in size for that either.

a few pieces were broken during shipment, but that is ok – i would break them anyway for my toddler to play with. they write easily on the board, and they erase just as well. my baby has tried to eat a few pieces so even after it is wet with slobber and dry, it still works well. (and, she’s suffered no consequence from her chalk tasting…)

Best Price Cheap Magna-tiles 100 Piece Pack Discount Review Shop

A friend recommended the Magna-Tiles to me for my 4yr old son Kurt. They were meant to be his present for the holidays, but he saw the Amazon box arrive, and so got them early. That was a week ago and he hasn’t stopped playing with them since. Neither have I, they’re addictive!

It’s fun to watch how the kids evolve from (first 1/2 hour) just creating piles of tiles and sticking the faces together, to discovering the edges stick and building roads/train-tracks, to thinking in 3 dimensions and building structures.

My friends’ 5 yr old built a geodesic dome with all of the triangle pieces, really.

Much better than Lego, because they are more abstract & flexible to build almost ANYTHING. The only thing keeping them from the full five stars is just that they are SOOO expensive. If they we’re 1/2 the price I’d buy 3 more sets, and then we could build some really cool structures!

Lastly, our family travels a lot in our RV and this toy is perfect for that. It cleans up in about 30 seconds, all the pieces stick together so you don’t lose any “bits”, and they collapse down to a very small pile so they take up almost no room.

I DEFINITELY recommend this toy if you can justify the expense.

Best Price Cheap LEGO Prince of Persia Quest Against Time (7572) Discount Review Shop

We are talking about LEGO, so generally only a few things can go wrong. Definitely a buy, but here are three of the bad points:

1. Some of the pieces fit too loosely together (laxed quality control?). Not too happy with that and will most likely ask LEGO for replacement parts.

2. The tip of the dagger is too soft!!! When you stick it into the hole to turn on the light switch, it bends. Do that enough times, and you will end up ruining a prized LEGO piece.

3. I had a hard time putting on Princess Tamina’s hairpiece straight, while the cape is also on. (The point formed by the folded neck area of the cape is right on the ponytail. I think you will know what I mean when you try it yourself.)
